Do you or someone you know love wild places, want to ensure public lands stay public for the future, and wake up in the morning itching to do something about it? If so, please get in touch with us. We are looking for a part-time summer intern for Colorado Wild Public Lands (COWPL).

COWPL is a volunteer organization of concerned citizens who value our public lands and waters for their recreational, open space and economic assets. Our mission is to protect the integrity, size and quality of our public lands in Colorado.

We have many projects on the go and are seeking help any time between May and September for 4 to 8 hours per week. Time will be flexible and you may work in our Basalt office or from home. This is a great opportunity to learn more about public lands issues and management as well as non-profit organizations. Depending on your interests, tasks may range from social media and outreach, to public lands research and documentation. If you are into social media, we'd love your assistance with sharing our stories online, via our website or Facebook, and encouraging people to participate with us. In particular, we are building a database that will tell the story of how private interests are threatening public lands. It will describe ways we can protect our public lands, keeping them in public hands. Research, analysis and organizational skills will be handy for this. Please contact Suzanne at coloradowildpubliclands@gmail.com if you would like to learn more.
